As most of the regular readers of this blog probably know, I love curry. I was really disappointed when my favorite place for Japanese curry, Curry House, closed its Clairemont location. There are still loads of opportunities to get Japanese curry in LA, but not a lot of local places hosting this cuisine.
I was always intrigued by the happy yellow building that housed World Curry. Located in the shopping district of Pacific Beach, it just looks so fun and...beachy! After looking at their menu online and seeing that they served a Japanese curry (among other popular curries of the world), I knew that I had to try it!

As mentioned before, the menu hosts about 10 different curries from around the world. A few Indian dishes, such as Saag Paneer, Chicken Vindaloo, and Tikka Masala; green and Panang curry from Thailand, Bali beef from, you guessed it, Bali! I was sold on the Japanese curry, but my husband wanted to try the Chicken Tikka Masala.
The curries came out soon after the salads. The Japanese curry had quite a good flavor, and plenty of potatoes and carrots. I like the cute rice presentation.
The tikka masala was very heavily spiced with coriander. I could actually smell it as it was brought to the table. The curry was good, but not the best tikka masala that I've ever had.
A huge plate of naan was perfect for sopping up the sauce!
I would definitely return. The curry is very reasonably priced, and although not the best curry that I've ever had in my life, it was good.
