The evening started with some great cover music provided by Nick Crook. Of course, it wouldn't be the Hard Rock Cafe without some great music!
I'm always fascinated by just how much stuff the HRC has on its walls. Legendary artists, and some of the most obscure acts to ever have a single radio hit -- every act is covered in some way.
We started with the hearty English Breakfast burger. This burger is a mountain. Bringing in the robust cuisine of a proper English breakfast, this burger features a certified Angus beef patty, sliced ham, sausage, a fried egg, a Portobello mushroom, arugula, and garlic aioli. The English certainly know how to do breakfast, with two breakfast meats and a mushroom. Served with curried fries (sooooo good) and baked beans, this is truly breakfast as dinner.
The drink pairing was the Hard Rock Hurricane, with orange, mango, and pineapple juices, Bacardi rum, amaretto, and grenadine. Sweet and perfect with the savory burger!
Check out those layers of MEAT!
Our second sampling was the Columbian Plantain burger. In the South American tradition of sweet and savory together, the burger features sweet caramelized onions, salty bacon, fried plantain, and Monterey Jack cheese. The burger is served with herb parmesan fries.
The drink pairing for this burger was the Southern Rock -- Jack Daniels Tennessee whiskey, Southern Comfort, Chambord, vodka, and sour mix. Again, a sweet drink, but I think that a burger and fries pairs well with something sweet.

Our third burger, and Steve's favorite, was the Jambalaya burger. Like the English Breakfast burger, this sandwich was a meat lover's dream! Stacked high with a 1/2 pound patty, andouille sausage, pepper jack cheese, and a rice cake. Like the other sandwiches, this burger had a paired drink and special fries. The fries were the delicious garlic fries.
The Electric Blues is a Hard Rock signature drink created with vodka, Bacardi rum, gin, blue curacao, and sour mix. Again, it's very sweet and fruity, but goes well with the burger and fries. This drink was a little sweet for my taste, but very pretty!
The Kimchi burger was our final taste of the night, and even though we were stuffed by this time, we were determined to give it our all for another tasty burger.
The Kimchi burger is a spicy dream of a burger, with Sriracha kimchi, bulgogi sauce, and Sriracha mayonnaise.
To cool things off a bit, it is paired with the Lovely Rita -- HRC's tribute to the classic margarita, and my favorite drink of the night.

Our waitstaff was excellent! I just have to give credit to how kind the staff always is at Hard Rock. They are always sweet and accommodating, with a great attitude.

The World Burger Tour will be available at all Hard Rock Cafe locations worldwide on May 1. The selections will be different in each city, but I encourage you to try them all!
