Rubio’s Co-Founder Ralph Rubio will receive a proclamation from the City of San Diego naming April 5 “Ralph Rubio Day” in San Diego. 33 years after opening the first Rubio’s in Mission Bay, Ralph is being recognized by the City for his entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to community and contributions to the food industry, putting San Diego on the map as a leading destination for fish tacos.
To celebrate the commemoration, Rubio’s will be offering its Original Fish Taco (the fish taco that started it all!), for $1.75 all day on April 5 throughout San Diego county stores. Additionally, a special reception will be held at the Point Loma location from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. with giveaways, free fish taco coupons and a chance to meet the “Godfather of fish tacos” himself. The event is free and open to the public, so come out and enjoy a taco and some of that amazing salsa verde!
