Uncorked at UTC Wrap Up!

Uncorked was so much fun! The weather, although a bit gloomy that morning, cleared up by the time the event began, so it was sunny skies for a fun afternoon of tasting wines and munchies at Westfield UTC.

The event started with a ticket pick up and a gift bag filled with all sorts of pretties from the merchants of Westfield UTC!

The party atmosphere started right away, with butlered appetizers, wine tastes, and samples from some of the great restaurants in the center. A great deal of Temecula Valley wineries were there, sharing samples of their wines with attendees!

One of the best tastes of the event was chocolate-covered strawberries from Godiva! They were freshly dipped, and tasted of perfection! The strawberries were huge, which should be no surprise given that we are in peak strawberry season in San Diego, but these guys were monsters! So good, as well as truffles for those who don't do fruit.

There were so many delicious and interesting wines, but the one that stands out to me is a new (to me) grape, the Wiens Albarino. Light and crisp, it was the perfect wine for the warm but not hot weather, and for summer in general.

Delicious, yummy fresh peach bits and fresh mozzarella drizzled with balsamic vinegar.

I've mentioned the Seasons 52 dessert shots before, but they never get tired! It's a few delightful bites of the richest chocolate cake, ganache, and bruleed marshmallow. Pictured is the S'mores cake, but each one of these desserts is splendid.

One of the appetizer highlights was this delicious mini beef wellington! Eaten with a sample of cabernet franc from Bel Vino!
Live music kept the festive atmosphere going! And we were given a CD of the musicians that played!
I loved this grilled shrimp from Pirch. Slightly spicy, with just a perfect seasoning.

And the oh-so-fresh chicken salad cups along with edamame cups from Lemonade. Again, these were great paired with the white wine. So light and refreshing!

What a fun event! With all of the wines and tastings, it took awhile to do everything, and I'm sure that there were some wineries that I missed. I loved how all of the stations were spread out to encourage attendees to explore the space. I will definitely attend next year.
