Tourist season is finished, and San Diegans find themselves in a relaxing city, with the perfect autumn weather dipping into the 60s. It's a great time of year to enjoy our city, with none of the hustle and bustle of the warmer months. The weather is amazing right now, and it's a great time to take advantage and explore a few new places.
I've been to
The Headquarters before for an event, and I really love the layout of this shopping center. It's more like a piazza than a restaurant/shops complex, with plenty of seats and a gorgeous view of the San Diego Bay.
The Headquarters is decked out for the holidays at the moment, with subtle, yet beautiful decorations.
Venissimo is a local chain of gourmet cheese shops, specializing in hard-to-find and local creameries. If you are looking for a show stopper cheese appetizer for your holiday parties, this would be the place to find it! I had a few tastes during my last visit, pictured below.

My personal favorite - Cahill Porter |
 |
Memoire - truffled cheese with a big flavor! |
 |
Barely Buzzed - cheese laced with Coffee!!! |
Venissimo is very big on samples, so it's a good idea to try a few and make your selection based on what you like. The employees are also very helpful and can help with your decisions!

Grab three end pieces for $3! A great way to try something new
Gelato Paradiso is a gelato shop (obviously), and another place that is great for a small indulgence!
Check out their beautiful presentation and flavors!
Flavors like toasted almond, double chocolate, tiramisu, and classics like stracciatella are perfect for a cup and stroll around Seaport Village. And in San Diego, it's always warm enough for frozen desserts!
We ended our visit with a small cup of stracciatella. It might be November, but gelato is always a good idea!

My friend and I are obsessed with truffle cheese! I'm going to have to go there with her to try it.
