I usually try to keep things on this blog positive, but I have to keep things honest. With all of the great food that I get to eat, there's bound to be some not-so-good stuff.
On Sunday, we were excited to try Mark's Bark, they-of-the-not-having-a-proper-website. They of the only open from 12-6 on Sundays. They of the please-take-your-family-and-scoot variety.
Anyway, my family and I strolled down at the appointed time on Sunday, excited that a barbecue place was now open in our neighborhood, even if it was only open for a few hours a week.
The menu looked interesting, although the ribs were not available until 2 or 3 o'clock. They couldn't seem to determine just when a menu item would be ready. Strike one.
We contemplated the menu, which was written on a white board. A menu on a board is generally a good thing, as it signifies that the food is fresh and made with in-season ingredients. Things were looking up!
Our food came out in good time, and the portions were of a good size. The meat had a nice flavor, with a good smoke, and the fries were quite good. However, the meat was a tad dry because...they don't provide sauce!
The service was also pretty rude. It was pretty obvious that the people behind the counter were annoyed that we had our meal in the dining room, as it was packaged to go even when we stated that we were eating in the dining room. My child was not making a scene, as she was quite behaved.
It's nice to have a barbecue place so close, I don't think that we'll return.

We never charge for sauce and welcome everyone to sit and watch tv and enjoy their food. You must work for Phils.lol
Sorry that you feel the need to tell lies about a small family business. We dont charge for sauce and never have i also give out free pickles. we invite everyone to enjoy their food and watch tv inside or outside we have @25 seats available. My mother is always warm and inviting to all find your comments to be very inaccurate. Tell phil hi for me.
Oh no! I wonder what happened on the day you visited. Perhaps there was a misunderstanding about the sauce when discussing with an employee? That does not excuse the rude behavior of the staff though.
Continuing on that point, I'm extremely disappointed to see their employees accusing you of lying RIGHT HERE. That is backing up your statement of their poor behavior as mentioned in the post. I would not give them my business at this point.
I love your blog and your honest reviews. We should meet up one day for grub. =)
