Feeding the Soul at Jitters

This post might be a little off-topic for this blog, but I'm doing it anyway, since it _does_ involve food. Lots of good food, in fact!

I'll start with explaining a bit about the Feeding the Soul Foundation. From the web site:

"Feeding the Soul is a foundation. Our fund-raising events support other charities and causes, and each show or series has a chosen beneficiary. Our mission emphasizes both food (feeding the hungry, promoting food / nutrition education and outreach) and music (supporting and supplementing arts classes in schools, promoting local artists and musicians), but we do not restrict the kinds of charities to which we donate."

Nice, huh? So when I found out that there was to be a show featuring Makepeace Brothers, Tristan Prettyman (love her!), and Charlie Mars, we were there!

I've never been to a parking lot show, but it was fantastic! The weather was San Diego perfect, and the setting was nice and laid back. Food was aplenty, as you can see from the pictures. Delicious green super salads from Cleansing with Katina, fresh sushi and salad from The Fish Joint, and of course, yummy veggie burritos, quiche, and pastries from Jitters (you must, must try these cinnamon rolls!).

There was also fresh peanut butters to be sampled from Pacific Beach Peanut Butter (say that one 5 times fast!). I heart the butterscotch, and really need to buy a whole jar. You guys know how much I LOVE nut butters!

Some highlights from the music portion...

Everyone singing "Thank You."
